Reem Sameer Shaikh wrote open letter to Zaira Wasim on her recent statement about Bollywood. Being such a wonderful actress why is she believing in religious norms where she can follow her career and also her religion. There are many such Bollywood actor actress who follow their religion and have worked in this industry.

Recently when she spoke about quitting her Bollywood career, after doing two hit films like Dangal and Super Star, Reem wrote this open letter to Zaira Wasim. Where she is explaining that it may affect her fan following. This may also mislead to the fans of Zaira Wasim. Religion can’t be the excuse for quitting the Bollywood career.

On the step towards success you can’t give up. Profession and religion are two different aspects of life. There are many other ways that in which can you embrace your faith towards god. Believing others is misleading you and it is only going to destroy your career. Self-belief is something that you must think and work upon.

This is the letter you can refer on Instagram and facebook.

Dear Zaira, even though you don’t know me, I think you are a wonderful actress and the National Award along with the many awards that you received for your performances were well deserved. Since the time you made the announcement about quitting films a lot of my friends from the media have called me and asked me for my take on the subject as I am a muslim too and a part of the same industry. So here is what I feel and these are my personal thoughts as an individual. Your decision is your prerogative and I’m sure it’s well contemplated however I feel since the inception of our Indian Film Industry great many muslim actresses and actors have done very well for themselves in their respective fields and also followed and practiced Islam successfully and diligently and at the same time achieved iconic status right from the legendary Madhubala ji and Dilip Kumar Sahab to Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, (Salman Khan being an exception as he follows and embraces all religions which is great). I believe work is worship and your profession should not interfere with your religion; as a matter of fact it should take you closer to the All Mighty. Im a practising Muslim who tries her best to balance both my work and my religion and I have never been closer to God now than ever before. I believe our Film & Television Industry is the most tolerant of them all, when a film is made it does not have any religion and we should keep it this way. Religion is something personal and what or who I believe in is nobody’s business. Therefore you are welcome to embrace your calling however I do wish and pray that you don’t mislead the many muslim girls and boys who are your fans and followers from pursuing their dreams and deprive our nation of these potential talents and future superstars, as these young girls and boys are all in a very impressionable age and any wrong or misdirected advice could lead to disastrous results and self doubt. All the best to you dear Zaira, may you fulfil all your dreams and aspirations. Allah Hafiz.
