In “Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya,” Asmita Sharma wowed the audience with her depiction of Amma Ji. The actress talks to us about her character, the film, and working in the new normal after reprising her role in the second season of the show. Continue reading:

1) How does your character in Season 2 vary from your character in Season 1?
A) The character I played in Season 1 was extremely flexible and colourful, and the same can be said for Season 2. But, when the second season began, she became more upbeat, but she is now gradually reverting to her old self, Amma. The audience will gradually see her true colour emerge.

2) How closely do you identify with your on-screen persona?
A) My on-screen persona is very different from who I am in real life, which I enjoy. As an actor, you still want to try new things, and this character is no exception.

3) What kind of feedback have you gotten on your depiction of the character?
A) The audience is delighted to see my character again, and after Amma returned to her old role, the audience has grown to appreciate it even more.

4) After almost nine years, the second season premiered. Were you sure you wanted to see season two?
A) No, we didn’t expect ‘…Pratigya’ to resume after 9 years, despite the fact that the audience had requested it. It’s fantastic that we’ve returned for a second season, and it feels like a blessing to be surrounded by so much love once more.

5) Did you anticipate the same level of interest in the second season as in the first?
A) As I previously stated, the audience was asking for Amma to revert to her old persona. I believe that once all of the characters begin to exhibit their previous characteristics, the story will become much stronger, and the second season will receive the same kind of response as the first.

6) What’s it like to fire in the new normal?
A) There were many ups and downs during shooting due to the lockdown, but we’re back on track now, and the shooting is going very smoothly, which I hope will continue.

7) Could you tell us about your time working with Rajan Shahi?
A) I’d never worked with him before, but I’d read a lot of good things about him. I think he’s a fantastic director, and everything is going well in this production house; the way the team handles things, the teamwork with the actors, and the way they look after the actors is admirable, and working with them is an accomplishment for me.
