Pawandeep Rajan is Arunita Kanjilal’s Harmonium tutor on Indian Idol Season 12
The upcoming weekend episode of Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol Season 12 will be a musical extravaganza, with viewers seeing the boys and girls compete with their singing abilities! Aditya Narayan, the show’s super dynamic host, will be seen raising the bar with his sarcastic sense of humour and engaging in some lighthearted banter with the judges and contestants. The show will be judged by Anu Malik and well-known lyricist Manoj Muntashir, with Anu Malik supporting the girls and Manoj Muntashir leading the boys.
Although all of the contestants gave outstanding performances, Anurita Kanjilal and Anjali Gaikwad’s outstanding performance on the song Laaga Chunri Mein Daag stole the show. The cherry on top was the fact that Arunita would be seen playing the Harmonium for the first time! During the duo’s set, Anjali Gaikwad’s voice mesmerised the audience, while Anurita’s harmonium skills astounded everyone. All applauded their efforts after seeing a burst of talent on stage. Judge Anu Malik was pleased to see this side of Anurita and was curious as to why she chose to learn the instrument.
“I always wanted to learn the harmonium but never had the opportunity,” Arunita Kanjilal says in response to his query. “Finally, because of Indian Idol Season 12, the opportunity arose, and this time I decided to learn the instrument on my own. I turned to Pawandeep Rajan, who was kind enough to train me for a few weeks and gave me the courage to perform on stage. In the future, I want to learn many more musical instruments from him. He is a very sincere and helpful person, and I am grateful to have found him as a tutor.”
