Sambhlo Chho?, an OHO Original, is presented to its audience by OHO Gujarati, India’s first premium Gujarati content streaming platform. Beginning May 30, 2021, a 5-episode series starring some of the top actors will be available on the site.

Sambhlo Chho?, which means “Are You Listening?” in Hindi, brings Jhaverchand Meghani’s stories to life. Each 25-minute episode is a five-part storey directed by Gaurang Kabira: Sadashiv Tapali, Rama Ne Shu Sujhyu, Rohini, Badmaash, and Burai Na Dwaar Par Thi. These tales are told in the ‘Vaachikam’ art style, a visually appealing narrative medium. The artist blends dramatic reading with tone and gesture performances to create a one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experience for the audience.

“The purpose of OHO Gujarati is to revive and bring to the fore the legends and folklores of Gujarati culture,” says Abhishek Jain, Co-founder of OHO Gujarati, in reference to the now-streaming programme Sambhlo Chho? And what better way to do it than with a reading of stories by Jhaverichand Meghani, the legendary Gujarati author?

For his important resistance to Gujarati literature through poetry, folklore, dramas, novels, short stories, and much more, Mahatma Gandhi properly nicknamed him the National Poet. He was a liberation fighter, journalist, and social reformer, as well as a poet and writer. His writings set him apart from the rest of the pack. His literary work is a treasure, and one of his most notable works, ‘Saurashtra Ni Rasdhar,’ has to be shared with the world. We at OHO Gujarati are honoured to have the opportunity to promote his work on our platform.”
