Tribute to Bach composed by Dr. L. Subramaniam features the iconic Anne-Sophie Mutter

The Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival (LGMF) is happy to announce a special project: Dr. L Subramaniam’s composition titled ‘Tribute to Bach’ that he will perform with the iconic European violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. This is the first ever East-West collaboration of Ms. Mutter. LGMF was started thirty years ago by Dr. L. Subramaniam and Viji Subramaniam in the memory of Dr. Subramaniam’s late father and guru Prof. V. Lakshminarayana, a torchbearer of new violin techniques and the visionary responsible for taking the Indian violin to the global stage. He was also an educator and taught at Jaffna College as a visiting faculty for music. He composed several songs and organized many concerts in India and Sri Lanka to promote South Indian vocal and instrumental music. The LGMF has presented major global music concerts across five continents. With a vision to bring global peace and harmony through music Dr. Subramaniam has successfully presented hundreds of great musicians from various corners of the globe in the past three decades. The festival’s 30th year celebrations began in January 2021 with a global premiere of Dr. Subramaniam’s Jupiter Symphony performed by the European Recording Orchestra. The other artistes featured in the festival were John McLaughlin, Kavita Krishnamurti, Pankaj Udhas, Anup Jalota, Usha Uthup, Ilaiyaraaja, Oystein Baadsvik, Svetlana Smolina and so on.
