Director G.Ashok, who’s currently busy with his feature film Durgavati starring Bhumi Pednekar has collaborated with Mansi Bagla and the two have purchased rights of three superhit South Indian films for Hindi Remakes. These films have already had a proven track record in the South markets and will now be remade into Hindi features. Preparation has begun and these films will be on floor soon. This news comes as a pleasant surprise for the Industry as the ongoing pandemic has pushed the entertainment into a lull.
G. Ashok is simultaneously backing Mansi as the producer for her directorial debut with a Marathi film which will be a remake of super hit Telugu romantic comedy- Ninnu Kori. Mansi had been doing substantial ground work for her Bollywood foray and directorial debut, the collaboration with G. Ashok comes as a timely development.
Speaking on the collaboration, Mansi Bagla said, “Acquiring rights of three south films and contemplating my directorial debut has not happened overnight. It’s the result of a robust groundwork along with my team for years. I’m a self-starter and self-learner and I needed a mentor to help shape me realise my dreams. G. Ashok sir has filled the void, not only with his experience in film making but also his approach towards work. Every conversation is a learning experience, I have only started out and there is a long way to go”.
They duo are also working on developing a Horror- comedy story with writer director Raaj Shaandilyaa (Dream Girl). Mansi successfully orchestrated this collaboration as well- Raaj & G. Ashok together as one is a King of comedy and the other a King of horror genre.
