“It feels good to take a break from routine work” Ekta Jain explains over the phone how work can become exasperating even for actors. After a 10 year sabbatical from the entertainment industry actress Ekta Jain is making a turn back with her upcoming feature – Khali Bali. After 10 years of career in the airline industry, her sudden turn-back to Bollywood got her fans all excited.

What is Khali-Bali all about?

The movie is all about comedy-horror. There is a certain mystery involved in the film. There is something strange happening to a girl and we can’t quite fathom what’s wrong with her? Slowly the characters in the story start getting aware of some-what weird behaviour of the girl and the question surface “Dude why it is happening?”. So the quest to figure things out is infused with elements of horror and comedy. We also had the pleasure of working with Dharam sir, which was quite an enriching experience in itself.

For the first time you are working for comedy-horror type film are you excited about it what would you like to say about it?

I am very excited. I am mostly liking it because I am getting lots of experience. For example when I am shooting a scene with Asrani Ji and Bijendra Kala Ji; Bijendra Ji talks slowly and softly he takes time to give his reaction till then we have to wait for it. On the contrary side, Asrani Ji wants a fast reaction. I learned a lot of things from Asrani, Dharmendra Ji, Rajniesh Duggal, Maddho Shah. I have a great opportunity to learn from them and making the best of it.

Have you taken any advice while shooting with Asrani Sir?

While shooting with Asrani Sir he tells me “beta give me the quick reaction, I will also give you a quick reaction, it will be good for you so that you will continue with your next lines.” The scene was too long and did not have to give another take. So the director gave me a tag of One Take Artist. I am happy to get this tag (She chuckles)

What is your character like could you shed a bit more light on about?

We are three characters played Asrani, Rajniesh Duggal and Me, we have an AD agency. We work together, we make ads on whatever products we get for making an ad. We want our ad agency work well, we will initiate so we can earn a lot.

Currently, you are a tiktok star with 4 lakh followers and 2.8 million hearts what you want to say about this popularity?

It’s nice, I personally read all the comments. I also make tiktok videos with the artist, I get a comment like “We want to meet you” and we can’t meet them personally so this is the best way to stay connected with your fans. Even on my personal video, I get comments like “you have a childish nature in your video we like you because it is neat and clean and no vulgarity in the video, videos are cute and inspiration.” Along with the artist, I have taken some of the videos with children also they find inspiration in it. And there is one video on a rainy season that video is getting viral. The song “Teri Do Sakiyaa Di Nukari Mai Mera Lakhoo Ka Savan Jaye” was a very amazing video and a beautiful song that is related to the rainy season. Many of them are busy with there work, along with work they also want to enjoy the season. And the way you get popular it feels nice and I also got the tag of the popular creator so I make creativity in my videos.

Before joining tiktok you took quite a sudden break from Bollywood. Why?

I took a break from the industry in 2004 by then I had done many serial and stage play. There were many things that were annoying and I wasn’t really liking, hence I dropped out of it. After that, I took a job at an Airline Company and worked there for nine and a half or 10 years. With time the worked changed so did people and I decided to quit my job. I felt good, we all need a break from our routine work. Then I decided to come back to the Bollywood industry and Khali Bali is helping me do that.
