Why Disney Picked Shahrukh Khan and Aryan Khan For The Voice Over of Mufasa and Simba?

Aryan Khan has mostly made headlines for being the son of Shahrukh Khan. Living in the shadow of legend like Sarukhan is a privilege and challenge at the same time.  Monarchy has been over thrown long back and in todays world you have to prove your worth; just receiving privileges because your blood is called nepotism – A lethal topic all-star kids prefer to avoid. Nothing can further form the truth, with great father comes greater expectations and, in all reality, there are high expectation attached to Aryans Bollywood career just because he is the son of King Khan.

Disney is all release a movie that narrate the story of kid living the under shadow of his king – father and is demanded prove his worth of his father’s crown after the tragic death of his father. And if you look in Bollywood the story resonates better with no one else but the King Khan (Sharukh khan) and his son.  

If you look closely there are many similarities between the relationship of Mufasa and Simba, and Sharukh and Aryan. For starters Mufasa and Shahrukh both are king (figuratively speaking), they are both share a deep and friendly bond with their kids Simba and Aryan, respectively. But the strongest commonalities that make the two father and son duo alike is that – Aryan, like Simba has lived under the shadow of his father for quite some time, they both (Simba and Aryan) stayed away from home for a long time. When in the story Simba comes back, he realises that he not just has to meet the high expectations people have from him but also live up to the legacy of his father. Aryan as too stayed away from home for studied and whenever he comes back the entire press start buzzing questions like When will he debut? Is he as good as king khan? Will his success be another by product of nepotism? Amidst all these speculation Aryan is left with nothing but a fight to prove his worth and establish his own identity, just like Simba.

For Disney, that’s what makes this father-son duo the best fit for voice over of Mufasa and Simba. They both not just resonate the character they are the Mufasa and Simba of Bollywood. And this just turns – up the audience’s interest to the max for ‘The Lion King’. The movie is all set to the release on 19th July 2019.
